What was the purpose of Moses Law?
The law that God gave to Moses through angels was not to be lived by, on the other hand, realizing that it was not possible to obey. Then it was to reach the presence of the Lord, saying, “Lord, help me.” Not only that, it was also given to be convinced that no one can reach God’s presence by himself through the fulfillment of the law.
What happened to Moses Law?
Without the law, sin is dead. By the law man can only have a sense of sin, because the law is just a scanning machine that uncovers the list of sins in a man’s life. No one can ever be justified before God by the law, because the law has no power to justify one. If a living law had been given, the law would indeed have been the foundation of righteousness. A new law was given for justification to accomplish what the old Moses law could not, which is known today as the New Testament.
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law, but under grace…
Why the law?
All who trust in the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, Cursed is he who does not abide in the book of the law to do all that is written in it. It is clear that no one is justified before God by the law. But why the law? As far as the descendants who received the promise, it was added because of transgressions and delivered into the hands of the mediator through the angels. He became a nurse for us to lead the law to Christ so that we might be justified by faith. If righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain. Therefore believe in Christ Jesus to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law. For by the works of the law no flesh will be justified.
Let no one judge you in matters of food and drink, or in regard to feasts and sabbaths, for these are a shadow of things to come. Since the law is not the true form of things but a shadow of the good things to come, it is never able to bring good to those who come near with the same sacrifices which are performed year after year. Jesus Christ our peace; The Lord made the two sides one, removed the enmity of the law, which is rules and commandments, with his flesh and broke down the middle of the separation, making peace and making both sides one new man in himself, and on the cross, he ended the enmity and therefore made both sides equal to God in one body.
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. The righteousness of God, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, has been revealed apart from the law.
Therefore, brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that we might bear fruit for God and become someone else who has been raised from the dead. Being dead to the law that captured us, we are freed from the law to serve in the renewal of the spirit and not in the oldness of the letter!
